For stock or cash transfers (stock transfer donations are
very beneficial if you have highly appreciated stocks, since
you get the full present market value of the transfer as
a tax deduction and hence don't have to pay high tax on
the appreciated value of the stocks if you sold them yourself)...
Foundation will provide you with an official receipt - Joe
manages the Foundation's portfolio.

For real estate, cars, bigger items: we have appraisals
done and do paperwork (title transfer, etc.) and then Foundation
provides receipt...

Matching Gift Programs: If you or your spouse work for a
matching gift company, you can take advantage of this program
and double, triple, or even quadruple your gifts to Joe's
World Foundation. How does the matching gift program work?
Each time you make a gift to Joe's World, your employer
makes a gift as well. If you give $250 to Joe's World, your
employer may contribute a gift ranging from 50% ($125) to
400% ($1000) of your gift. Your employer's policy dictates
the matching amount. What are the advantages? As a donor,
you will be credited with a total contribution, including
the corporate match, so the size of your gift increases.
For example, a gift of $500 that is matched dollar for dollar
by a donor's company will increase the gift to the $1000.
How do I take advantage of this program? Contact your human
resources department for instructions on requesting matching
gifts. Every time you send in a contribution, include a
matching gift form. We'll take care of the rest. If you
