Think Different or Think Again

Thanks to Gordon Bobbett for the photo
My question is this: What do you think of your photo being hoisted up, looming high over route 280 on the side of the Apple building? I was surprised when they took the iMac down and put you up. It's a great photo. I'm also curious to know what you think of the "Think Different" campaign, and what kinds of talks, if any, took place between you and Apple to have your photo used for the ad. ...Woz's Reply

Note: I appreciate all your letters of congratulations, even if I don't have enough time in the day to respond to all of them. I'm getting a bit behind on my e-mail as a result of this award. I just want to say thanks to everyone right here.

  • Atari and Breakout, The Real Story
My name is Bill Hunter, and I run a website called "The Dot Eaters", which chronicles (or tries to, anyway) the history of videogames. I'm currently refining the entry I have for Breakout, and I was wondering if you might be able to confirm a couple of questions I have about this game and yours and Mr. Job's connection to it and Atari. For instance, there is a tale that while you assembled the hardware for the game, you only received 350 dollars for your efforts while Steve pocketed a cool $5000 or so. And it is also believed that when you first saw Atari's PONG, the first successful arcade videogame, you immediately built your own version that would put "OH SH*T" (asterix mine) up on the screen when the ball was missed.

  • Woz Biography Released
At the Tech Museum in San Jose, Steve recently celebrated the release of his updated biography written by Martha Kendall. It's entitled Steve Wozniak, Inventor of the Apple Computer.

Based on many hours of interviews with Steve himself, the book is easy to read. Kids as young as fourth grade loved the first edition, and the new one carries on with more anecdotes and adventures chronicling the life of the one and only Woz. It's perfect for kids and adults who are curious to learn more about the man who started it all....

  • Woz's High Flying Score
I was looking through my old Nintendo Power magazine's when I came across one from January 1991. I took a look inside at the player's pulse and I saw Steve "Mr. T" Wozniak from Los Gatos, CA wrote a letter. I read it over and you got some pretty impassive scores. You said you got a high score on the Concorde between London and New York.. ...Woz's Reply
